There’s actually a very “popular” Roman Catholic priest running around telling millions of followers that it’s “ok to celebrate pride,”(in the sense of gay pride)because he claims it’s a “different kind of pride.” (Pride the deadly sin, pride which goeth before the fall) How has our Church fallen so far off the rails that anyone could possibly find this acceptable when Jesus not only calls ALL of us to humility, he also calls us to “sin no more.”
Archdioceses all over the country are paying out hush money to victims of clerical sex abuse to the point where they’re having to file for bankruptcy protection. Abortion clinics are killing unwanted children at the rate of a few thousand a day, yet nobody even wants to talk about the gross lack of sexual restraint that’s destroying life around us as we know it. This most certainly shouldn’t fall on members of the LGT community, but at the same time, every single one of us is called to sexual restraint, to chastity according to our state in life. We’re also called to humility, and there is nothing more anathema to humility than pride. The “Pride” movement flies in the face of any semblance of sexual restraint, and even giving the appearance of aligning our Church with these kinds of political movements is creating a divide in our church that pretty much mirrors the divide in our country, and for good reason. It’s incumbent upon us to welcome all, but it’s also incumbent upon us to realize that being marginalized doesn’t make us virtuous, and we don’t get to break the rules just so we can “welcome all.” Yes, you’re absolutely positively welcome, but we all need to keep it in our pants, and when our churches use that rainbow symbology in that context, it’s pretty much preaching that “anything goes,” and it doesn’t even hint at sexual restraint. There are actually priests out there celebrating “Pride Masses,” and I have no doubt there will be a “millstone” awaiting them on Judgement Day.
It’s our promiscuity that’s destroying us. Our church likes to virtue signal every week when it prays that we “end racism in all of its forms,” yet our promiscuity is causing more difficulty in the “black community” (and other communities) than racism ever will again. There are kids running around all over who don’t even know their fathers,(even in my own family) yet we’re so busy trying to be “inclusive” that nobody even wants to touch that tabu topic of “sexual restraint.”
Now I confess to Almighty God, and to you my brothers and sisters that I have been more guilty of promiscuity than probably most of you, so I have much repenting to do, and much of that repentance comes in the form of speaking this Truth that everyone else is afraid to speak. Our priests can’t be trusted, as they as a faction are proving to be more deviant than many of the rest of us, so it naturally behooves them to “loosen up the rules,” as it helps them validate their own lack of restraint, and I most certainly question the motives of “Father James Martin” when he goes around wreaking this havoc with the support of our current and last pontificates. We need to be welcoming, but we also need to be accountable, and right now any semblance of accountability in our Church has fallen into chaos.
We as a Church, if we want to be truly welcoming, need to create something new. To discard the “worldly symbology” and create something innovative that will bring ALL members of the Body of Christ together in unity in that welcoming. To end the schism, and to stop following political party first and Jesus second. To rein in the recklessness, and restore accountability, that we ALL might remain all in, and totally His.❤️😳
